“My creed is that: Happiness is the only good. The place to be happy is here. The time to be happy is now. The way to be happy is to make others so.”
– Robert G. Ingersoll
When I was a teenager, I suffered from severe depression. It wasn’t
until after the birth of my daughter, that I realized that life is too short to spend it being miserable.
Don’t get me wrong, I know depression is a mental illness, and I’m not trying to say that it is as easy as a snap of a finger to cure it. For me, depression still lingers around, I’ve just found ways to keep it from invading my life. Being with my children, laughing, gratitude, positive self-talk, eating healthy, getting a good night’s sleep, avoiding unnecessary drama, and playing & listening to music are all things that I do to help me stay happy. Helping others be happy has also helped me along the way.
